Ferran Adrià

Changed the history of cooking with his groundbreaking creative and technical innovation. His name is synonymous with the iconic, three-Michelin starred El Bulli in Catalonia. There, he pioneered the revolution of ‘deconstruction’ – preserving the essence of a dish, while transforming its ingredients, texture, form, temperature or appearance. Adrià invented dozens of new cooking techniques (spherification, edible foam…), as well as new equipment and, in doing so, completely reinvented the tasting menu. He was also the first chef to be invited to display his work at Documenta Kassel, one of the most influential contemporary art exhibitions in the world. Adrià’s latest venture is the El Bulli Foundation, a vast project that explores the notion of creativity.
