Kirmen Uribe

Kirmen Uribe (Ondarroa, 1970) is one of the most widely read and translated Basque language authors. His first novel, Bilbao-New York-Bilbao (Seix Barral, 2010) won the Spanish Literature Prize for Narrative and became a global publishing achievement translated into 15 languages. It was ranked amongst Top 15 Best Books of the Year in the UK. Before, his book of poems, Meanwhile take my hand (Visor, 2004) he already had a great recognition of critic and public (it was Critics Prize and was published in English in the USA). His latest novel, The Time to Wake Up Together (Seix Barral, 2016) is his most ambitious work. He has been invited to lecture at prestigious universities such as Stanford, Chicago, Oxford, UCSD, NYU or WUSTL. His texts have appeared in publications such as The New Yorker, El País or Berria.
